Platja de s'Estanyol

Platja de s’Estanyol

This small beach is part of Sant Antoni Bay. Although it is located in an urban area, its charm will immediately catch your eye, while its fine sand and shallow turquoise waters are sure to capture your heart.

The best thing about this beach is that it has all the services you need to enjoy your holiday without having to leave the area.

Identity card:

Type: Sandy Beach

It is 20 meters wide and 150 meters long with fine and soft sand and shallow water which is perfect for families with children. It is surrounded with lots of multi storey hotels and restaurants but not much greenery. Access to water for people with reduced mobility is possible but does not have a lifeguard service.

The beach is separated by a concrete wall from the road. It has a lot of plastic chairs lined from the outside of the hotels and there are boats anchored in the middle of the sea.

Geo: 38º968092 N / 1º300041 E

Playa s’Estanyol is about 2 kilometers from the town of San Antonio and is within walking distance along the sea. It is also 25 kilometers from the town of Ibiza. There are 4 different ways to get there. By car, motorcycle, bus or ferry. Taxi from Ibiza town costs over 30 euros. Meanwhile, taking the bus L2 and L6 from Sant Antoni bus station is cheaper but takes a little bit longer. The other option and a fun way to arrive in this beach is by taking a ferry at San Antonio port. The easiest of course is by car or motorcycle. From Ibiza, take the C-731 road and drive towards Sant Antoni. When you reach the port of Sant Antoni, there is a central roundabout with a famous Columbus monument Egg. Take Sant Agustí road, signed as Cala de Bou direction, in this roundabout. Sant Agustí Avenue goes southwest along the Bay of Sant Antoni and the road signposts Platja de s’Estanyol is two kilometers away. No worries about parking as it is available near the beach.

Did you know?

S’Estanyol means “pond” in the Catalan language. On Ibiza island, there are two beaches with this same name. The other beach is in Santa Eulària municipality, near to the sportive port in Ibiza city. A quiet and peaceful small-scale cove that is surrounded by rocky cliffs and jungle-like greenery. While Playa de S’estanyol is in Sant Joseph municipality, part of Sant Antoni Bay it is mostly surrounded by hotels.

What to see:

If you happen to be in San Antonio on a Friday, visit the Art & Mercat market, where you will find mainly Ibizan alternative brands, handicrafts, food, and eco-friendly products. Don’t forget to walk around and see the wonders every stall has to offer; this market takes place around the church on Friday mornings.

What to do:

Rent a boat trip! In Ibiza — especially from the port of Sant Antoni — several companies offer traditional boat parties. DJs, open bar cocktails, snacks, fresh fruit and certainly an unforgettable sunset are all part of this experience.

If you are looking for a beach activity, you can rent an hour stand up paddle or kayak.
