Cala Carbó

Cala Carbó

Ibiza Island offers a wide range of beaches of varying sizes and character, many of which become very busy during the summer season. However, not all of them are about crowds and lively activities. In the southwest of the island, there is a small, secluded beach called Cala Carbó.

Identity card:

Type: Coarse Sandy Beach

Cala Carbó is a small charming beach located in Cala d’Hort Natural Reserve in the middle of the forest. This beach is one of the very few that does not get overly crowded during the high season . It’s a perfectly shaped coarse sand cove on the outside and has a rocky seabed. The shallow water is not turquoise like the typical Ibiza beaches due to seaweeds and pebbles, but it is for certainly clean and marvellous.

Did you know?

Calo carbó was a coal bunker, hence the name “carbó” which means coal in Ibizan language. A lot of years ago, this cove was deserted, nobody visits this beach except for a shepherd, and sometimes some fishermen come to rest.
