Sol d’En Serra

Sol d’En Serra

Sol d’En Serra

During peak season in Ibiza, it is really knackering to find peace and quiet as millions of tourists from all over the world visit this magnificent island. But, there is always a place for those who just wants sun, sea and silence.

Another secluded beach that is less visited in Ibiza is the beautiful Sol d’en Serra. It is one of the few remaining untouched beaches on the island that gives you the feeling of having your own exclusive beachfront on some quiet days.

An extraordinary small-scale cove with eye catching views of the surrounding cliffs. Loungers, parasols, showers, toilets are available in this beach and it is also a perfect place for snorkeling but be precautious of the currents.  There are no amenities available but sun beds, showers, bar, parking, toilet are all available in the restaurant just above it.

Identity card:

Type: Pebbly Beach

Sol d’en Serra is 300 meters long and only 5 meters wide. A rugged beach at the foot of the cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It consists of small gray pebbles and has a restaurant of high quality just above the cliff.

This beach’s bright blue water is harmonious and irresistible to look at but it has strong tidal currents due to its position facing south, making it not suitable for families with children. But, the only thing that is less attractive in this beach is the dried sea grass on the side washed by the wind. But all in all, the water is completely transparent and refreshing and the views won’t let you down.

This secluded beach is 2 km south of Santa Eulalia and less than 1km from Cala Llonga. Driving a car or driving a motorcycle is the only way to get here due to the winding road and a steep descent down the cliff.

It is about 20 minutes drive away from Ibiza Town and 25 minutes from San Antonio.

To get here, head over to Santa Eulalia and at the main roundabout turn right to Cala Llonga. Then turn right on the T-junction when you reach a broad dirt road. At about 900 meters you will reach Sol d’en Serra.

Parking here is not a problem as there are plenty of car parking spaces and the beach can be accessed by a narrow gravel path alongside the restaurant.

Did you know?

Sometimes, Sol d’en Serra is referred to as Pebble beach due to the thousands of pebbles on its shore making it impossible to lie down.

Due to its remote location, not many people come to this beach therefore it is usually not busy even during the peak season. In fact, the only reason visitors come here is to relax at the beach club.

In the morning after the crack of dawn, a lot of yoga gurus come down here to practice yoga sessions as the sunrise here is breathtaking. It is truly a perfect place for serene and quiet everybody needs.

Amante beach club, the only beach club located in this beach is also a wedding venue of choice of the many locals in the island. You’ve got to see it for yourself to know the reason why.

What to see:

The most spectacular thing to see here is the breathtaking sunrise. If you are not a morning person, you might consider being one for a day to see what Sol d’en Serra’s glorious sunrise look like. Another thing to see are the elegant yachts anchored near the coast.

Yoga. As mentioned earlier, a lot of yoga gurus come here to practice yoga sessions in the morning. You might want to try it too.

Where to eat:

Restaurante Amante

Restaurante Amante is the only beach club and restaurant and is the main attraction in this beach. It is situated in a sandy cliff just above the beach. They serve Contemporary Spanish and Italian dishes alongside the best fresh fish and meat cooked in the Josper grill and a great wine list.

The prices are a little bit higher than average, but are worth paying for the service offered plus the stunning view. There are a few high stool directly facing the ocean allowing customers to immerse in the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea while having a good wine or a scrumptious dinner. At night, the surrounding is illuminated with dashing colored lighting and the outdoor film screening is just one of a kind.
