Ses Boques

Ses Boques

The Es Cubells area is a jewel to explore. It has a charming town of the same name, an interesting little place with hidden beautiful beaches and three little coves. One of its beaches is Ses Boques, a little quiet paradise with typical wooden huts for boats and a good restaurant surrounded by juniper groves.

Es Boques is 20 kilometers away from Ibiza town with cab costing around over 20 euros.

By car, take the road to E-20 to the airport then take the exit to San José approximately 5 kilometers away. Take the detour on the left then continue straight on towards Es Cubells. At the next intersection, follow through the signs to Ses Boques until you reach the restaurant of the same name.

Did you know?

Ses Boques cove is well known thanks to the only restaurant in the area : It is probably one of the best in the south of Ibiza.

It was in 1974 when Joan Ribas (Portmany) and his wife Lourdes Tur, discovered this remote place and decided to open a humble restaurant. Locals started to assist and support it. In 1987, the restaurant was rebuilt and improved.

Es Cubells’ town has a monument to the Francesc Palau, a Carmelite who at the beginning of the 18th century, stayed in Ibiza. He insisted on the construction of the Es Cubells church, became a hermit and spent long periods alone on the islet of es Vedrà where he fed on gull eggs and refreshed himself with rainwater stored in a cave in the bowels of the island.

Ses Boques

There is only one restaurant in Ses Boques with the same name as the cove. The cuisine is Spanish and Mediterranean, mainly fish, seafood, and ibizan traditional rice and meat. Delight a good wine from their well curated wine menu, and eat right next to the sea in the terrace with astonishing views.

The restaurant offers sunbeds and parasols service.

Opened in the seventies by Joan Ribas and his wife, Ses Boques has continued to maintain the highest standards—this is why locals are happy to make the drive to experience it. We can assure you, it is well worth the journey.
