Cala Pada

Cala Pada is located between Santa Eulalia and Es Cana. A peaceful and fewer tourist beach backed by picturesque setting of aromatic pine trees and juniper trees. The wooden footpaths add meaning to this little beach, the turquoise shallow pristine water is ideal for families and water sports enthusiasts and the soft sand is ideal for sitting and listening to the soothing sound of the splashing waves.

It has all kinds of facilities, perfect for your next Ibiza vacation with friends or family. It is also frequently visited by travelers from its surrounding resorts as it only has a few holiday homes and hotels.

This beach is a big sandy beach measuring 200 meters long and 10 meters wide with uneven red rocks covering the sand bar and a long wooden boardwalk that extends out into the sea from shore. The water is translucent and shallow providing safe conditions for kids of any age to have fun. It is also a popular place for windsurfers.

The facilities available throughout this beach are parasols, sun loungers, public bathrooms, baths, bars and restaurants and souvenir shops.

How to get there:

Cala Pada can be reached by car or motorcycle in ten minutes from Santa Eulalia. Just take the road to Es Canar and you will see the entrance to Cala Pada after three kilometers. There are free car parking spaces on the side of the access road. Also there is a coastal route that links Santa Eulalia with Es Canar that runs along this shore, do not miss that opportunity because it is definitely worth it.

By bus, the beach is only 1-minute walk from the bus stop at 12 meters away. The transit lines 18A, 18B and 37 have routes that pass near Cala Pada.

Another option to get there is by taking the ferry. There are ferry connections that runs everyday from Santa Eulalia, Es Canar, the town of Ibiza and Formentera. It is a fun way to get to Cala Pada plus you get to see the stunning coastline from the sea.

Did you know?

A steamship named the SS Mallorca went aground on a reef off Illa Rodona on 17th of January 1913. Local fisherman at Santa Eulària des Riu saved the crew and passengers from the boats. In the place d’Espanya, there is a stone monument commemorating the escape in front of the Ajuntament (town hall).


What to see:

Views to several remote offshore islands from the beach feature Illa de Santa Eulària, Illa Rodona and En Caragoler.

 

There are three restaurants offering local and international dishes with wide shaded terraces at the back of the beach where you can relax in the sun loungers under the shade. There is also a small design store and souvenir shop.

What to do:

Windsurfing is one of the best things to do in Cala Pada when the south wind blows.

 

Renting pedalos and kayaks, riding electric boats and banana boats and doing catamaran sailing are also the other things to do here. There are diving centers here for both beginner and professional divers and special training courses are offered to the beginners.

Brisa de la Mar

A small traditional beachside restaurant with beautiful setting and romantic atmosphere serving seafood, European, Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine at a reasonable price. The view is stunning over the sea in the evening. The tuna tartar, calamar a la romana, the grill squid are definitely worth the try. This restaurant is also vegetarian friendly serving salads and other healthy options.

The other closest resorts to Cala Pada are Es Cana and Santa Eualia, which are both about 2km away.

Tips:

Parking can be a challenge in high season. To avoid the hustle, better walk along the shore from either of these two resorts.
