Figueretas
Practically, Figueretas is the urban beach in Ibiza town. You can enjoy the Mediterranean sandy beach and a refreshing bath without leaving the city. Besides, nothing is missing in this area: a wide range of hotels, restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets, ATM, water sports, car and scooter rental, and boat excursions are all available here.
On top of that, every day in the summertime, along the palm tree-lined promenade, there is a craft street market until late. This promenade is a popular meeting point for families, locals, couples, and tourists.

Figueretas Beach is 400 meters in length and from 20 to 30 in width. It has ideal soft sand to lie down, and indubitably there is an option to rent a sunbed. But what’s more magical is relaxing on a sarong after bathing in the sea. It is very safe for kids and everybody to go into the shallow water.

This well-known beach is located in the city area, just 1.5 kilometers from the port and Dalt Vila. It lies perfectly between Dalt Vila and the famous Playa d’en Bossa. The beach is approximately 6 kilometers from the airport, 16 kilometers from San Antonio, and 19 kilometers from Santa Eulalia del Río.
Wherever you are staying on the island, all roads lead to Ibiza Town. Buses regularly connect the main towns and beaches to Ibiza Town, with several stops in Figueretas. From the airport, Bus L10 passes through Figueretas, with tickets costing around €3. During the high season, Ibiza offers many transportation options, including taxis, buses and car and scooter rentals. It is also possible to reach the area by ferry from Ibiza Port.
Did you know?
In the middle age, from the Catalan conquest in 1235 to the defeat in 1715, the island was divided into four parts, each of them called quartó. The Figueretas neighborhood was originally part of the Ses Salines Quartó. Its original name, Ses Figueretes, comes from the Ibizan dialect and means “small fig trees.” This name reflects the area’s past, when the landscape was covered with large orchards of fruit trees, including fig trees, almond trees, apricot trees, carob trees, and vineyards. Today, Figueretas has transformed into a lively multicultural neighborhood and a popular tourist area.
On the night of Saint Joan in June, beaches across the island are filled with traditional bonfires that people jump over as part of an ancient pagan ritual. Locals and visitors alike spend the night celebrating with drinks and snacks, while municipalities organize events, concerts, and fireworks.
Also every August, the Figueretas festivities take place, featuring a magnificent fireworks display launched from the islet of s’Illa de ses Rates, just off the beachfront. The colorful lights reflect on the sea, delighting visitors from all over the island, who gather to enjoy live music and a lively beach party that continues late into the night.

What to see:
If you walk to the left along the Figueretas promenade, passing the restaurant terraces, you’ll reach a natural hill that leads to a more attractive and wilder stretch of coastline with fewer hotels. From here, the panoramic views open onto the deep blue sea. This area is known as El Soto, and from there you can continue on foot to the walled city of Dalt Vila.
Walking in the opposite direction toward Playa d’en Bossa the palm promenade is like a border between the sea and the city. This famous small quarter offers all kinds of activities thankfull to its location in the city center.
What to do:
There are many options to spend the day on this beach ; take a sunbath on a sunbed admiring the astounding views of the bay, take a drink in a bar on the seafront promenade, eat sushi or paella sitting in the beautiful terraces of the restaurants…
There are also a lot of water activities: paddle surf, kayaking, boat excursions to explore hiden caves, boat parties, snorkeling around the islets of Escullets de sa Corbeta, Illa Negra, Illa de ses Rates or Escullet de s’Illa de ses Rates. There is a beach volleyball net that can be used by everyone to play with. To explore the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, there are the Somni Blau Diving Center and the Arenal Diving Ibiza.

What about drinks and hotel ?
The area offers a wide selection of bars and restaurants along the beach and throughout the neighborhood. Both day and night, Figueretas has a lively atmosphere, where tourists and locals mix to create a stylish and vibrant scene.
Some of the best bars in Figueretas include S’Escalinata, a classic favorite with a lively vibe, excellent cocktails, and a great terrace for an evening drink; Base Bar, a stylish spot known for creative cocktails and a relaxed yet upbeat atmosphere; and dolceamaro cafe & bistrot, a charming café-bar perfect for daytime cocktails, spritzes, or an aperitif by the beach before the evening buzz begins.
To stay comfortable in your holidays, the hotel’s offer is vast : Hotel Ibiza Playa, One Ibiza Suites, Apartamentos B-Llobet, Llobet Ibiza, are good options.
Tips:
Figueretas is in the city of Ibiza, if you got a car, finding a parking space can be difficult in high season. The town is small, we suggest you to park on the outskirts of the city and walk a bit. If you are staying in Ibiza town, Figueretas is within a walking distance from any point in the city.
