Es Torrent

Es Torrent is one the quietest and least frequented coves in the island of Ibiza. It is an untouched small pebbly beach surrounded by resplendent cliffs and an excellent relaxing spot located in the area of Es Cubells, San José.

The unique restaurant that takes the same name as the beach is very renowned. To disconnect and to have an Ibizan quality food are the main reasons to set foot in this hidden and pristine place.

Identity card:

Type: Pebbles Beach

Es Torrent is a cove in San José, municipality, in the middle of the beautiful green nature that identifies Ibiza and the area Es Cubells. Even though the proportions are small, 75 meters in length and has a very small strip of sand, in Es torrent you will find peace, serene time and spiritual calmness. This beach is made up of pebbles into and out of the sea. That is the reason why locals and tourists don’t usually fantasize being here. But the good thing about this beach is, there is a wooden walkway to the water. An untamed beach and one of a kind. Although, it might not be as beautiful as the other beaches in the island, Es Torrent has something wonderful to offer too, like its peaceful surroundings, translucent clear depthless water which is perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

Did you know?

Es Torrent is located in the mouth of a torrent and that’s how it got its name.

Es Torrent belongs to Es Cubells, in San José municipality. Don’t confuse it with the beach Port des Torrent, which is in Cala de Bou bay. In 2017, a storm ravaged the beach and the restaurant. A flood washed away everything and shattered the beach including the restaurant’s terrace and the owner’s van.

Few days after the chaos, the San José municipality and volunteers gathered together to rebuild the beach and the restaurant. In less than a week, everything was ready to open to the public again. Thanks to the kind hearted volunteers and the municipality of San Jose.
