Calo de S’Alga
It is a small sized crescent shape beach located in the Siesta area in the South of Santa Eulalia .Half of the beach is soft sandy area that is perfect to lie down on but the northern part of the beach is covered entirely with concrete and some pebbles. This beach is a little greener with hardly any waves and many fishes.
The beach is quiet and does not get busy even in the high season. You can find a small kiosk on top directly at the entrance to the beach where you can buy snacks and an ice-cold beer on a hot day to complete your relaxing and quiet day at the beach.

It measures a length of 110 meters and 10 meters width. Tall hotels and apartment complexes surround Caló de s’Alga but it is not crowded in the summer. The soft fine sand has a few sunbeds and parasols available for relaxation. Just like all the other beaches on the island, the turquoise water is very clear and the entrance is shallow which is perfect for children.
Algae can be present at the edge of the beach on some season. In this case, sandals or bathing shoes are strongly recommended.

Travelling to Calo de s’Alga is quite difficult as a gravel path leads you down to the beach. It lies less than one kilometer from Santa Eulalia and is accessible by car or by walking from the town, by bus and by boat.
The distance between Ibiza Town and Calo de’s Alga is 16.7km and travel time by car takes approximately 20 minutes via C-733 and EI-200/PM-810 road. And you can park your car and scooter in the streets near the beach. However, riding the bus L-13 takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes at max and the nearest bus stop is at a distance of 600 meters from the beach.
Did you know?
Locals also know this place as Cala de Siesta because it is adjacent to La Siesta beach resort, named after the place of the same name.
Only the guests of the surrounding holiday residences and hotel complexes come here because of its difficult path – among them mainly families with children and the elderly.
What to see:
Walk to the river near the beach. This river extends towards the beach of Es Canar. Walking along the coast will give you some impressive coastal views.
What to do:
When in Santa Eulalia, do not miss to visit Puig de Missa, it is a lovely old church that can be reached by walking up the hill. Next to it is a small museum of local culture. A great way to learn about Ibiza.
Snorkeling in this clear water is one of Calo De’s Alga’s things to do too. Even in the shallowest area of the water you can see fishes swimming around.

A restaurant seafront restaurant in Santa Eulalia down-town serving Mexican specialties and mezcaleria as well as foreign dishes, which are now also a house speciality as Mexican seasoning will always be their special ingredient. A great location overlooking the Bay of Santa Eulalia, where the sun shines beautifully until sunset. Their outside seating offers a great view.

Apartamentos Siesta Mar – has spectacular gardens with a huge swimming pool in the middle. The rooms balcony gives you a stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea.
Or you can try the Insotel Fenicia Prestige Suites & Spa. It is a 5-star hotel that has a very nice swimming and has its own spa and gym and it comes with free breakfast. A very comfortable place to relax with impressive architecture.
Mariners Beach Bar – this bar is a lovely little gem that has a really chilled atmosphere and has a great view across the beach. They have a great selection of draft beers and the workers are very friendly.
Sal de Ibiza Store – this shop is a nice place to find interesting products. They sell products made out of salt. Just a little bit more expensive than the other shops but you will for sure find good quality and beautiful designs of the latest trends.
Tips:
Coming here can be quite challenging, if you’re not staying in one of the nearby hotels it might not be worth it coming here as there are many other beautiful coves and beaches you can explore.
