Did you know?

A few years ago a flea market started in Cala Llenya, where locals gather to sell what they no longer need like records, clothes, furniture, shoes, toys, books and antiques. It works more in winter like all the local markets. Usually, there is paella, live music like flamenco, rumba and rock. It’s exciting because people from all over the world live in Ibiza, so the things you find were probably bought in Switzerland, Vietnam, Chile, England, Morocco; everyone finds something interesting!

For a couple of years, it was cancelled because of permit problems with the town hall. But it came back in 2018 and is slowly coming to life.

What to see:

On the way to Cala Llenya, you will pass by the village of San Carlos which has a lovely white church next to a green area and it has bars and restaurants. So, you can park your car or get off the bus to explore this picturesque corner of the island.

Why not try a delicious ice cream in Viccio? It is an ice cream shop in the bars terrace area. Enjoy it while taking a stroll or sitting on the lawn next to the church.

What to do:

These activities are only for those who like hiking, cycling and exploring. From Cala Llenya you can reach Cala Nova cove. It is a four-kilometer path that begins at the southernmost point of the beach, it passes through the coast, crosses the countryside and reaches the northernmost point of Cala Nova. You will pass the pine tree forest, the farmer’s fields, and have a stunning view of the sea. Hiking is an activity little explored by tourists on the island, so bring your hiking shoes and experience other facets of the island.

Tips:

What makes the island of Ibiza magical are its many faces. For some years now it has sold itself as a party island. However, it offers other activities not only in this northern area but in all its corners. We recommend that you get lost in its beaches, its villages, its small bars and local shops; whether you explore it by car or by public transport.
