Cala Vadella is part of a little resort with the same name Cala Vadella. A fantastic sandy beach located in a valley underneath green hills with a sea as calm as a natural pool. The views offer a magnificent sight of the panoramic blue line of the sea, the trees on the hills, the Mediterranean turquoise colors of the sea and the most common thing to see is the yachts and boats anchored in its peaceful waters.
This quiet cove has complete amenities such as parking, restaurants, bars, hotels, shops, a fantastic ice cream shop, lifeguards, water sports, wheelchair access for the disabled and dive schools around the area.

Cala Vadella is on the southwest side of the island in San José municipality, the highest point of the island, surrounded by beaches and coves under stunning hills and cliffs. Cala Vedella is in a valley surrounded by nature with admirable houses between the pine and juniper trees. Its form as an enclosed bay of shallow water makes it an authentic natural swimming pool, perfect for families with children of all ages — also, access for the disabled, providing amphibious wheelchairs. It is 260 meters long and 60 to 80 meters wide with fine sand, making it real paradise. Sideways are the typical angler boat huts great for sun bathing.

How to get there:

25 kilometers away from Ibiza town, this wonder of nature can be reach by driving a car or a scooter, via a taxi that cost more or less 35 euros, by bus (number 26 Eivissa-Sant Josep-Cala Vedella) and via ferry from Sant Antoni port or Ibiza port.
It is advisable to go by car as the Ibiza roads have enjoyable views. From Ibiza town, take EI-700 to Sant Josep. After passing through Sant Josep town, continue one kilometer by the route to San Antoni after the last traffic light, turn left on the signs to Cala Vedella, Cala Tarida and Cala d’Hort. Continue 8 kilometers more towards Cala Vedella, which is perfectly signposted.

In the late 60s, the tourism began to rise in Ibiza, and it was only during the 80s and 90s that Cala Vadella became the favorite destination becoming one of the most important of the Balearic Islands.
This beach has been selected by German travel agencies and real estate companies as the ideal place to invest. A lot of bars, shops, restaurants, clubs, resorts, all-inclusive hotels came up during these glorious days.
Unfortunately, the crisis hit Spain in 2008, and in 2009, the splendor closed several restaurants, pubs, hotels, shops and a few buildings abandoned and had become ruins. A few years later, Ibiza’s economy improved.
Cala Vedella is a great example of the phoenix, rising from its ashes and is now living one of its best moments!
What to see:
Before arriving, stop by to have an astonishing moment admiring the panoramic view of the sea in a viewpoint near the road.
Watch the brilliantly red and orange sunset in between two cliffs it is definitely worth it.
What to do:
Trek 11 kilometers from Cala Vedella to Cala Carbó.
Snorkeling, practice water sports and activities in its clear water. Go diving to see the beautiful marine world, rent kayaks, and stand up paddle pedalos, boat rental and go on boat trips.

Maya beach club is the most beautiful and elegant beach restaurant in Cala Vedella. Fresh seafood, Mediterranean and traditional paella are the basics on the menu. Nevertheless, there are more menu options, with sushi bar and Italian specialties.
During the day, enjoy a cocktail on a Bali bed while sunbathing. At night, a magical candlelight dinner in the minimalist open-air terrace is necessary.

Maria Luisa

Shopping in Cala Vedella is a great thing to do as this beach has stores of clothes, shoes, beach accessories and a lot more directly behind the beach.
